MÜNTER HAS STRONG PERFORMANCE AT MADISON INTN'L RACEWAY: 3RD IN HEAT, 4TH IN SHOOTOUT
Madison, WI (July 28, 2006) - Leilani Münter showed, in her third time at Madison International Speedway, that she comes to compete.
32 races cars showed up to compete for 24 starting positions. The ultra competitive field qualified within 6 tenths of second of each other and
only the top 22 cars make it into the race on time. After turning her best time ever in qualifying (18.925)
Leilani finished 3rd in her heat race and barely missed the main event, finishing 4th in the last chance race (only the top two advance).
"I was racing a guy for third place in the last chance, I was on the inside and we came up on a slow car that was running the low groove," said a disappointed Münter,
"I was forced to give up the spot in order to pass the slower car, and that took me out of the running to finish in the top two and make the main event. I am a bit
disappointed but happy we are making progress and the lap times are showing that."
Münter turned the second fastest lap in both her races.
