SS RACING GEARS UP FOR TWO BLIND DATES THIS FRIDAY

Indianapolis, IN (Thursday May 10, 2006) - After a short weekend break the SS Racing team is geared up and headed off to two different tracks for Friday night races. Both rookie drivers, Leilani Munter and Andrew Weldon will continue their development programs. And both are looking to accomplish different but definite goals.

Andrew Weldon led by Crew Chief Butch Miller, will head to Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola (FL) for his third ASA Late Model Southern Series race and first-ever time racing at Five Flags Speedway. Leilani Munter with her Crew Chief, Deon Deneau is off to Madison International Speedway in Oregon (WI) for their second race of 2006 and her first-ever time competing at Madison International.

Weldon has experienced some tuff luck in his first few events and looks to reach his goals of a competitive but clean finish. “It’s been frustrating because we are much better than the outcome has shown on paper,” said Weldon. “The last race I was running lap times as fast as the leader then got caught up in a no where to go situation.”

“But I’ve learned from Butch to learn and move forward. So, I keep growing as a pavement short track racer and move on to Pensacola, where I think we can be strong,” added Weldon.

Butch Miller has about thirty years over his young apprentice. And through that experience knows it takes time for a young driver to develop and see results. “Andrew is getting better each time he’s out on the track. It takes a lot of seat time,” said Miller. “I know he’s capable and it will come together. Patients, persistence and lot’s of seat time always pay off in this game.”

Munter is heading into new territory as well. And she looks forward to getting back in the car and getting the season under way. “We were scheduled to race at Illiana a few weeks ago, which I was really looking forward to, but the race was rained out,” said Munter. “I’m really anxious to get in the car and start racing week after week, so I can build some momentum.”

Deon Deneau, is also ready for some regular racing action. “We have only run one race with Leilani so far,” said Deneau. “I’m ready to get to the track and get our season into a rhythm.”

Munter will make her first-ever start on the fastest half-mile oval in Wisconsin. Madison International Speedway races begin Friday night May 12th at 7:30PM. Qualifying begins at 6:30pm and gates open at 4pm.

Over 1,000 miles away Andrew Weldon will make his first-ever start at the historic Five Flags Speedway for the Pensacola 100 ASA Late Model event, which is scheduled to begin at 8:45PM with Qualifying at 6:30PM.
