MÜNTER SIDELINED WITH MECHANICAL PROBLEMS IN NASCAR SW SERIES KONICA MINOLTA 125 AT PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

Avon, AZ (November 9, 2006) Leilani Münter was sidelined due to mechanical problems in the Konica Minolta 125 at Phoenix International Raceway. She started 36th and finished 32nd in the 42 car field. After the No. 57 Konica Minolta Chevy was slightly damaged in a wreck that collected several cars in front of and behind Münter she reported vibration in the car at speed.

"It was a tough night," said Münter, "We were chasing the car all day, we were extremely tight, I just couldn't get it to turn. I was actually dropping my left side tires on to the apron going into turn one during the race just to get the car to rotate. Then after the wreck, I thought we were okay under caution but as soon as I got up to speed I had a big vibration."

After pitting to change the left front wheel, hoping this would fix the vibration, NASCAR notified the No. 57 team that they were not allowed to change the wheel and ordered Münter to return to the pits to change it back to the old wheel.

"It was extremely frustrating to pit under the green to change the wheel and then to have to come back in under green again to change it back," said Münter, "We lost us a lot of time out there. After Butch decided the problem could not be fixed quickly, the team decided to retire for the night. It was not how I wanted to end the season, now all I can do is look forward to the 2007 racing season.

Münter plans on stepping up the ARCA Re/Max Series in 2007 with a top NASCAR Cup and Busch race team which has not been announced yet. Look for a press release announcing her new team prior to ARCA's season opening event at Daytona International Speedway.
