LEILANI FEATURED IN BOOK "A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AMERICAN WOMAN"

Bookstores across America (September 29, 2005) On April 8, 2005, 50 of the world's most talented female photographers spent 24 hours capturing a "day in the life" of American women.

The 50 photographers were positioned throughout the United States and abroad, capturing extraordinary images of an ordinary day in the lives of American women. The resulting photographs and the accompanying words make up A Day in the Life of the American Woman

The result is a rich tapestry reflecting the full spectrum of women's lives: their daily challenges, their joys and accomplishments, and their changing roles in the family, the workplace, and the community. The images reflect how women see themselves, as well as the unexpected, dramatic, and sometimes humorous moments revealed during the course of an average day.

The more than 200 memorable photographs include portraits by Sharon J. Wohlmuth. A dozen essay-length personal profiles (including Leilani Münter) by Carol Saline, narrative captions and extended quotes provide a context for the lives reflected in each picture. From the well-known to the unknown, the women portrayed embody the many incarnations of the American woman. Their stories, conveyed in the intimate, resonant style of Wohlmuth and Saline's Sisters, speak to women of all backgrounds.

"It was certainly an honor and privilege to participate in such a historic project," said Leilani. "Special thanks to my dear friend and award-winning photographer Acey Harper and to Ami Vitale of Barcelona, Spain who spent the day documenting my adventures here in North Carolina.
