TRANSPORTATION PROBLEMS FOIL TEXAS PLANS
Denver, NC (March 31, 2004) Problems with transportation of the No. 27 FHM super late model
stock car that Leilani Munter was to race at Texas Motor Speedway on April 2 is preventing
her from participating in the FIRE 911 Romco Late Model 100.
"I want to thank all the guys in North Carolina that have been working so hard to prepare
this car for Texas," said Munter, "It's a shame we're not going to have a chance to run.
I know these guys built me a great car and I've got some laps under my belt here.
I was ready to race."
"We have been at the race shop all hours of the night working. It was very hard to get
on that plane today without my crew knowing I'm not racing, but all we can do is get ready for the
next one. I would like to thank my sponsor FHM, Eddie Gossage and
his entire staff at Texas Motor Speedway for their ongoing support,
and Stanton Barrett
for helping us out this weekend."
FHM, Leilani's sponsor, will instead be featured on Stanton Barrett's No. 91 Busch Series race car.
"We're excited to be involved with Leilani Munter's late model program," said Phillip Crandall, Gasoline Editor of FHM,
"Obviously we are disappointed that Leilani's not going to race this weekend, but we are thrilled to be back on her race car for the June race."
Leilani Munter and the No. 27 FHM super late model team will be returning to Texas Motor Speedway on June 12 for the
second Romco Late Model 100 run in conjunction with the O'Reilly 300 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Bombardier 500
Indy Racing League night races.
Leilani is in Texas and will be making the previously scheduled appearances at the FHM booth throughout the weekend.
