Atlanta, GA (November 7, 2002) Leilani Münter has completed her training at Atlanta Motor Speedway with Andy Hillenburg of Fast Track High Performance Driving School, the official driving school of ARCA. She's been added to the list of Fast Track Alumni which includes Winston Cup driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.
1995 ARCA Champion Andy Hillenburg had this to say of Münter, "Leilani has the potential and desire to become one of the top drivers in the next generation of racing stars. Her love for the sport and commitment to improving is obvious. Leilani has an understanding of what to do in a race car. She's not intimidated. She's not a good 'woman' driver. She's just a good driver."
Münter is now qualified to compete in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. ARCA is now in its sixth decade of competition and is recognized among the leading sanctioning bodies in the country. The ARCA RE/MAX Series is known for being a feeder series into NASCAR Winston Cup. Typically two-thirds to three-quarters of the starting field at any given Winston Cup event have ARCA experience. Many ARCA RE/MAX racecars are former or current NASCAR Winston Cup machines.
"Andy (Hillenburg) takes the time to help his students individually. It was a valuable learning experience," said Münter. "Andy is not just a talented race car driver, he is an excellent teacher."
The new television series Livin' Large documented Münter's progress in Atlanta. Livin' Large profiles people who live the phrase "It's not about the quantity of life; it's about the quality of life." Other segments feature N'Sync, Shaquille O'Neal and Helio Castroneves. The show is hosted by Carmen Electra and Kadeem Hardison. Livin' Large airs nationwide. Air date is March 29, 2003.
